Who We Are Pulmonary & Critical Care of
Northwest Michigan, P. C., is a group of six physicians who are Board Certified in Pulmonary
and Critical Care Medicine. Two of our six physicians are additionally Board Certified in
Sleep Disorders Medicine. We provide consultative and managing pulmonary services in our
office at North Royal Drive and via our hospital practice at Munson Medical Center. We serve
patients throughout northern lower Michigan.
Our six physicians rotate duties between the hospital and office to maintain
availability of weekday 8 am - 4:30 pm office services, as well as 24-hour hospital
coverage. You will primarily deal with one physician, but may be seen by others in the group
if an emergency occurs.
Mission Statement
The mission of our team is to diagnose any lung and respiratory
problems, and recommend a treatment that will give you the best breathing and
overall health. We are dedicated to delivering quality care, and our staff provides
personal service. We maintain telephone and on call availability at all times.
What is a Pulmonologist?
Pulmonologists have training and expertise in
diagnosing the cause of problems such as shortness of breath, chronic cough, and
abnormal chest x-rays. Common diagnoses include:
Asthma
- Bronchiectasis
- Bronchiolitis obliterans
- Chronic bronchitis
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Chronic respiratory failure of various causes
- Emphysema
- Lung cancer
- Pulmonary fibrosis
- Pulmonary hypertension
Two of our physicians are specially trained to diagnose and treat sleep
disorders, including:
- Sleep apnea
- Restless leg syndrome
Each of our physicians is also an Intensivist, which means we care for patients
in the Critical Care Units of the hospital. Patients in the hospital commonly have breathing
failure requiring support with breathing machines or require complex monitoring and
medications to support them.
